American Express has announced that it is adding its Consumer, Open Small Business and Serve cards to the Isis Mobile Wallet platform.
American Express now joins Chase, Capitol One and BarclayCard in enabling its card holders to make NFC payments and collect rewards using an Isis-enabled mobile phone.
“Now our card members and merchants can benefit from the ease and convenience of a tap-and-go experience on a mobile phone and still enjoy the benefits, services and support of American Express,” said Josh Silverman, president of U.S. Consumer Services for American Express.
“The relationship with American Express underscores our commitment to ensuring a flexible and inclusive platform that offers consumers choice in mobile payments,” added Michael Abbott, CEO of Isis. “Today’s announcement is testament to the vision and commitment of American Express to make mobile commerce a real and positive experience for their customers.”
Isis, the m-payments joint venture between AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, is set to debut in Salt Lake City, Utah and Austin, Texas later this year.
