Visa, in partnership with Monitise, has launched a suite of new mobile financial services on its revamped Debit Processing Service platform, enabling mobile phone users to check their account history and balances, transfer funds between accounts, and receive real-time transaction alerts.
Visa says it will soon expand the services to include NFC-enabled mobile payments, as well as bring in support for mobile offers, check deposits, and V.me – Visa’s digital wallet service.
All services are are fully managed by Visa and can be accessed with any mobile device, any mobile channel, and with any eligible debit, credit or prepaid account.
According to Visa, the Debit Processing Service launch is part of the company’s greater mission to make mobile payments “broadly available” in the U.S. and in other developed countries, while expanding electronic payments across the globe. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/nfcnews-4.gif)
