MasterCard certifies Giesecke & Devrient's TSM hub in Toronto

Friday, November 18, 2011

Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has received certification from MasterCard for its Canadian TSM (Trusted Service Manager) hub in Toronto.

With an existing MasterCard-certified TSM hub in Munich, G&D is now positioned to offer commercial TSM services at two sites globally, enabling customers in those areas to securely provide mobile payment solutions on NFC-enabled mobile phones.

Banks and service providers using G&D’s TSM are able to transfer and install PayPass-enabled payment account information in real time onto NFC-enabled mobile phones in real time. After account provisioning, consumers can immediately use their mobile phone at more than three hundred thousand merchant locations worldwide where PayPass is accepted.

According to G&D, the Toronto TSM hub is the first in Canada to be approved by MasterCard’s Mobile Partner Program, thus establishing it as the main North American TSM hub for NFC application management and provisioning.

G&D says it is currently preparing multiple commercial NFC roll-outs in both its Toronto and Munich TSM hubs. [end]
