CPI Card Group taps Bell ID to become Trusted Service Manager

CPI Card Gro­­up has selected Bell ID’s Trusted Service Manager (TSM) software solutions to enable the provisioning and management NFC applications for its customers across North America.

Using Bell ID’s solutions, CPI will be able to assume the role of TSM and provide the personalization of NFC secure elements and the secure provisioning of applicati­­ons – such as payment, loyalty and transit – over the air to an NFC enabled mobile handset.


CPI is offering the TSM services to financial institutions, merchants, mobile network operators, transit agencies and administrations, enabling them to use the NFC applications for payment, couponing and secured access control, according tot he company.

“Utilizing Bell ID’s software solutions will enable us to offer services and support to the emerging payments industry by providing the framework for a powerful and flexible offering to our North American customers,” said Steve Montross, president and CEO of CPI. [end] 

Japanese teleco KDDI has selected Gemalto to help roll out NFC services to KDDI’s 34 million subscribers.

According to Gemalto, the company is providing KDDI with its Allynis Trusted Service Manager (TSM) software and UpTeq NFC high-end security device to aid in the deployment of multiple contactless services ranging from mobile payments, transit ticketing, e-driver’s licenses and smart posters.
