UPM, SimpleNFC launch NFC online store

UPM RFID and SimpleNFC have teamed up to launch a Web site offering NFC tools for building a variety of wireless solutions.

SimpleNFC.com features an NFC starter kit along with a number of customizable UPM NFC tags, including the BullsEye, RaceTrack, Block UPM MiniBlock tags with Mifare Ultralight, Ultralight-C or Classic ICs.


According to the partners, the tags can be used to create a variety of NFC-enabled products and services, such as smart posters, micro-location, audio and visual tours, product information, social networking and real-world games.

Simple NFC says their ultimate goal with the site is to “provide a development platform for every operating system and NFC handset in the market.” [end] 

Mobile operator Digicel Pacific Limited has announced the deployment of VeriFone’s mWallet services and NFC-enabled payment systems in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Starting this week, Digicel subscribers in the the Tongan capital Nuku’alofa will be able to receive NFC tags that are linked to their mobile phone numbers and VeriFone’s contactless payment acceptance systems. Customers can affix these tags to their phones to tap and pay at over 50 merchants in Nuku’alofa.

UPM RFID and Waldemar Winckel have announced that their NFC tags will be available for purchase through the Winckel’s new Touch2go online store.

According to UPM, the Touch2go store will provide small companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs access to a variety of NFC products for use in marketing, loyalty applications or customer promotions.
