NFC Forum partners with APSCA, ARTS, Open Mobile Alliance

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

The NFC Forum has signed agreements to work with organizations representing three different industries: the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA), the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) and the Open Mobile Alliance.

The first group, APSCA, is a non-profit association that provides information, consultancy and networking services to the Asia Pacific smart card industry. The NFC Forum’s Memorandum of Understanding with APSCA will allow the two to share information and coordinate non-technical activities such as training courses, case studies, white papers, research, webcasts, and events.

The NFC Forum and ARTS, an international retailer-driven organization, will collaborate on information exchange and education, including sharing statistics and research, publishing joint papers that highlight specific case examples for retailing, and educating retailers through National Retail Federation communication channels.

Finally, the Open Mobile Alliance has singed a Co-Operation Agreement with the NFC Forum to establish and promote global standards in the wireless telecommunications and Internet domain. The agreement also covers joint work on NFC-enabled devices and related applications, including diagnosing problems and monitoring device performance over the air. [end]
