Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Scottsdale, Arizona-based wireless transaction provider Apriva has announced a contactless payment vending machine initiative, as well as certification for its AprivaPay mobile card payment app.

In an effort to deliver EMV-compliant contactless payment vending machine technology to Canada, Apriva has partnered with Open Solutions, a Canadian ATM, credit and debit card services provider. The technology is based on Apriva’s Apriva Vend cashless vending system. The system includes hardware, software, payment processing, cellular carrier services and reporting.

The technology will offer secure card-based payments that satisfy Canadian regulations and is planned for release later this year.

Apriva has also received appSecure certification from viaForensics for its AprivaPay mobile card payment application for the Android smartphone. To receive the certification, the app underwent evaluation and testing on the methods it employs to prevent exposure of sensitive and private data.

The testing included code analysis, operational security testing, inspection of stored data and encryption methodology. [end]
