CVCU taps Tyfone for mobile wallet service

Tyfone has announced that it will provide its suite of mobile wallet services to CoVantage Credit Union (CVCU).

CVCU will use Tyfone’s technology to offer customers contactless mobile payments via a memory card through its nine branches in Wisconsin and Michigan. According to Tyfone, the the secure element in the memory card enables CVCU to dictate the financial service without interference from the mobile operator.


Tyfone’s mobile wallet also includes Symitar Episys core integrated mobile banking and strong ID authentication mobile security, in addition to standard features such as balance, history, transfer, and bill pay.

According to Tyfone, its multi-mode mobile banking (SMS, App, Web) will allow CVCU to offer several “industry first” features, including account aggregation, rate watch, Regulation D counter, bill pay and an array of customizable alerts. [end] 

Auriemma Consulting Group is set to launch a comprehensive consumer study on the future of the mobile wallet.

The study comprises an overview of the current state of the UK mobile wallet space and attempts to answer “What comes next?” after launch. To determine the next stage of the mobile wallet, the study examines the features and benefits consumers expect on mobile wallets, and potential ways to expand the mobile wallets’ capabilities.

CoVantage Credit Union (CVCU) announced the availability of Tyfone’s mobile wallet services throughout its branches in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Some 64,000 CVCU members can now use Tyfone’s mobile banking services, which include balance checking, account history review, fund transfers, branch and ATM location look-up, as well as several new features:
