Rhodes 3.0, ruby-based app builder adds support for NFC, Windows phone

Rhomobile has added NFC support for its 3.0 framework. The system currently only supports the Android operating system, however, that will change shortly with future support for Windows phone coming.


Rhodes powered applications can read and write to NFC tags, reports Readwritemobile.com. Blackberry has also announced future summer availability of NFC based smart phones which will be compatible as well with Rhodes 3.0 software.

Sprint has announced its latest NFC-enabled mobile phone, the HTC Evo 4G LTE.

Set to debut on May 18, the $199.99 handset will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and come with Google Wallet, making it the fourth phone from Sprint to offer the service, behind the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and the recently-launched Optimus Elite.
