Crédit Agricole taps Gemalto for NFC payments rollout in Nice

French bank Crédit Agricole has picked Gemalto to help deploy its NFC mobile payment solutions in Nice.

As part of the “Nice, Ville NFC” initiative, Crédit Agricole Provence Côte d’Azur will offer its customers contactless mobile payment services at stores in the Nice Côte d’Azur urban community.


Gemalto will supply its Trusted Service Management operated services for the rollout, enabling the secure deployment and management of the payment service, regardless of the mobile network.

According to Gemalto, the company now has more than 35 NFC projects successfully deployed in the world. [end] 

Nokia is launching a commercial trial of its PagSeguro NFC payments app in Brazil, the company announced via its official blog.

Starting in May, owners of Nokia C7, N9 and 701 handsets will be able to use PagSeguro to pay for items at NFC-enabled points of sale, as well as transfer funds between users.
