Microelectonica expands international relations by joining GlobalPlatform

Microelectonica Espanola S.A.U. announces its recent membership into GlobalPlatform. GlobalPlatform works to advance the mobile payment landscape and develop ideas for new competitive leaps in smart card technology.

Microelectonica will be working most specifically with GlobalPlatform’s card committee which works with application managements in terms of industry specifications for the cards.


Additionally as part of its membership, Microelectonica will participate in the Mobile and IP Connectivity Task Force. As a part of that team, they will be assisting GlobalPlatform’s Technical Committees ensuring that the long-term technical output and the demands of the card industry are completely in sync.

Microelectronica is a company that has begun focusing on the high-end SIM card market, and committed to GlobalPlatform to expand their international bonds. GlobalPlatform announced that it will hold a two-day card specification training session March 1-2 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Directly preceding CARTES North America 2012 (March 5-7, Las Vegas), the training session will aim to educate CARTES delegates and other participants on the importance of GlobalPlatform Specifications, their capabilities and functionality.

digital security provider Gemalto to validate its UICC NFC 2.0 product. The goal is to achieve qualification status by GlobalPlatform, which launched its compliance program earlier this year.
