TazTag launches TazBox for a contactless home or office

Monday, June 21, 2010

TazTag has announced the launch of its new TazBox , a device designed to give users the ability to use contactless technology in the home or office.

The new product contains the infrastructure needed to use all NFC-enabled devices such as smart phones or the TazTag’s own TazCard, as well as next-gen loyalty and payment cards.

TazTag says the device is geared towards home care and services, acting as a link between users and service providers using its internet connection via its Zigbee gateway. The company says it can also be used to demonstrate new NFC mobile phones in phone stores and points of sale.

The TazBox is powered via electrical socket and can be placed on any desk or counter, requiring no connection to a computer.

The device, which connects to the back-end either via Ethernet, WiFi or 3G, also features a customizable design and a color touch screen. [end]
