NFC ticketing could come to Dubai Metro

Singapore-based Cassis International says they are in talks with UAE telcom provider Du to give Dubai citizens NFC functionality in their mobile phones, according to itp.net.

This means that passengers on the Dubai Metro could be able to pay at the turnstile using only their NFC-enabled mobile phones.


Chua Thian Yee, CEO of Cassis International, told itp.net that he is engaged in talks with both Du and Etisalat about a potential NFC project, but is confident Du will bite first.
