AFSCM accredits Trusted Lab to validate City of Nice transport applications

Monday, February 15, 2010

The French Association of Mobile Contactless Technology (AFSCM) recently accredited Trusted Lab security services to conduct validation of the NFC transport applications for Veolia. AFSCM, responsible for accrediting all mobile applications, is made up of French mobile operators such as Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and NRJ Mobile.

AFSCM chose Trusted Labs to check and ensure that the City of Nice NFC applications follow the association’s functional and security rules. This includes testing its basic functions as well as its performance with the additional resources such as data service and network connection.

Applications taking part in the AFSCM’s mandatory validation process include the MIDlets and the Java Card apps for SIM cards.

This accreditation for the City of Nice will allow Trusted Labs to take part in the first large-scale NFC validation process in Europe. Veolia Transport has worked with Trusted Labs since 2007 and is looking to conduct more projects and partnerships in the future. [end]
