Smart Card technology for wine tasters

Monday, January 18, 2010

A new joint venture between Napa Technology Partners and Vintry Wine and Whiskey employs the use of a smart card for wine tasters. Napa Technology Partners “WineStations,” a wine tasting technology that can hold up to four bottles of wine, operates with a smart card system.

After inserting a smart card, with a touch of a button, customers will be able to sample a plethora of wines.

WineStation technology is an intelligence-based, automated, temperature-controlled wine dispensing and preservation system manufactured by Napa Technology based in Santa Clara, Calif.

The hospitality, entertainment and food service industries have begun to utilize the WineStations as a new way to serve, preserve and increase sales of their wines. [end]
