Gemalto's TSM solution certified by MasterCard

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Gemalto has achieved MasterCard certification for its Trusted Services Management solution, which recognizes the company’s ability to manage personal user information for banking transactions. The certification applies to Gemalto’s Taiwan-based data center and enables the company to support financial institutions in the deployment of NFC services on mobile phones.

“MasterCard works alongside vendors to offer secure NFC payment solutions to its issuing banks,” said, MasterCard’s Andrew Smith, vice president, Mobile Center of Excellence. This enables financial institutions to rollout NFC MasterCard PayPass mobile services safely and will help spur the growth of contactless payments in the region. [end]

Gemalto has announced that its “Allynis” Trusted Service Manager (TSM) solution has been selected to securely manage transactions on the Isis mobile commerce platform.

Isis, the mobile commerce joint venture between Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, will enable U.S. customers to pay, present loyalty cards, and redeem coupons all with a tap of their NFC-enabled phones. According to Sébastien Cano, seniro vice president at Gemalto North America, the TSM solution will enable Isis to securely deliver mobile payments along with a host of NFC services, including access control and mass transit in addition to couponing and loyalty.
