ARYGON introduces new reader

ARYGON Technologies, a provider of NFC and RFID reader modules, announced the launch of its new Multi-ISO HF Desktop and OEM Reader for ISO 14443 A/B and ISO 15693/18000-3 Mode 1 based applications. The new reader utilizes existing PC/SC standard for USB and also for the RS232 interface.

Features of the new ARYGON Multi-ISO HF Reader include:


  • Firmware capable of using many different security features, including DES, 3DES and AES encryption for Mifare DESFire EV 1, Mifare Plus and Mifare Ultralight C transponders.
  • The same reader is capable of reading ISO 14443 and 15693 transponder deployments within separated and converging applications in any USB and RS232 environment • PC/SC Driver for USB and for RS232 interface makes application development • Patented innovative • Field upgradeable firmware via bootloader for adaptation for future contactless card standards

The new Multi-ISO HF Reader is suitable for various applications in person ID and HF Object ID, specifically: card and tag personalization stations; logical access to PC´s and networks; printers and other PC-peripherals; payment, loyalty and point-of-sales terminals; vending machines and kiosks; physical access and time & attendance; libraries, canteen and campus applications; car rental; medical and industrial applications. [end] 

HID Global has partnered with Inside Contactless providing software so iCLASS credentials can be emulated on MicroRead NFC chips.

Tam Hulusi, senior vice president of strategic innovation and intellectual property at HID, says NFC technology hasn’t always been a sure thing but now it appears that a number of factors are coalescing to bring NFC to market. “NFC has been up and down the past few years,” he says. “Now everyone understands that NFC has to be supported by smart phones … and smart phones with higher bandwidth can make NFC a reality.”
